It fills my cup up

full and steady. Only this time we only got that cup half full.

Bavaria, usually fills our cup to the brim in such a soulful, healing way, I will miss it, till next time. Nature and nurture is such a tonic, even if just for a few days, infact, we must do it more as we age. It's key to a healthy old age I'm sure! Never mind, we will be back soon. Hopefully though, Mr Watson pup will have learnt some manners by then, bless him! Just looked over at him and butter wouldn't melt, eeeeee! He's just turned 1 and we kinda missed it sadly!

Anyway, so sorry I have't blogged in a while, but the other half of my cup is full of shit right now.

I don't think I've ever cut a trip short before? No never, but sometimes something is so very lacking, so much so, relaxing becomes impossible, so then, it's time to pack up and go home. Maybe we should have waited until the French Wreck was finished and the parking/access issue was resolved? One's peace can really be stolen by overload and whats happening at home sadly. If it's not some made up gossip by people I never talk to, it's fighting a very entitled community for our own legal access. Also, we've no real routine here yet and as much as adore our team, I'm sure they would enjoy a break from my ugly morning face, bless em! I am so very ready for this house to feel like a home now.

There's so much pulling us here there and everywhere at the moment. We couldn't even find the energy to deal with the pups in an apartment, especially with no near by green space, let alone the troubles back home. Sounds odd that really, as our dogs are our kids and we love walking them, but the only green space was a very steep hill. We also haven't been to Garmich for many years, never taken the dogs before, so now we know.

I got also glutenised on our first stop over in Germany and the pain was incredible, so I was as much use as a chocolate fireguard. I couldn't share the load. My stomach is not yet back to normal, but I do feel like I'm getting there now day by day. I actually have jeans on today and a lunch to go to which has the potential to put me back where I started, if I'm not careful. Eating out for me is akin to choosing between three glasses of water, they al look innocent enough and yet one is poisoned, seriously. A few dashes of real soy sauce was all it took and a vendor that lied. 'yes it's safe'......no it wasn't! Does rather seem the way with a lot of folks these day eh?

Are we now living in the era of lies?

We are definitely in the era of misogyny, mistruths and mayhem, that much is clear. I hate to say it, but people enjoying other folks stuggles and telling them they are whinging says everything about them and nothing about us. I won't justify writing here or sharing on social as I don't have to. Anyone not a fan, can surely scroll the fuck on?

Home is where the heart is they say, but I rather feel we are getting the 'you don't belong here' treatment here, as we have unwittingly got in the way of the local grocer and her deliveries. Long story, which if you want to understand the whole story, read my FB page or a previous blog on here. I can hardly be bothered to explain it again. I'm completely exhausted by it all. There are a lot of opinions, but oddly not one of them has to put up with it eh?

Yes, I will use my gifts, and voice to stop injustice when I need to.

I will say this much though, there is more than one solution to this problem and they don't want to hear or implement them. One thing is clear though, it's not our problem to solve.

We are definitely not living the French dream right now and I'm not going to put a positive spin on it. All we can do is employ legal help and crack on with jobs here, get it done, then we have choices. We've had to take the strain off, because we are simply being heavily pressured, to comply to something we don't have to.

Anyway, it is what it is and tomorrow is another day!

I really do hope Mr Starmer fixes this fractured relationship with Europe, because us British expats are being treated very badly in some parts, many of us are certainly being given the cold shoulder. I've now experience French local government at its worst and I am not surprised. The law is for everybody. It always surprises me though, how nasty people can become, when you own something they badly want for themselves.

I also do not subscribe to the 'go home' thing and 'the French do it their way'. I can assure you all, the law applies to us as well as them and we do not have to accept your fate, nor do you.

Then there's the USA voting in a jail bird, overly orange man who makes no sense and should be in jail? What is the world coming to? I really fear for womens rights around the world. Sickly, I just saw a new Meme on TIKTOK with chaps saying 'your body, my choice' What the actual fuck? I nearly vomited. I did love the fact that good men responded with the same quote against those men! Guys, you have grannies, mothers, sisters, daughters that you should protect, stand up for their rights as much as you'd stand up for yours!

I swear to god, Suffragettes and the like will be turning in their graves, as will the family that built and owned this house for a 100 years. I'm sure they'd be shocked to hear that we are under attack and the mayor decrees our garage access be withdrawn! Once upon a time that garage was a coach house for the horses, imagine being told your horses could not rest? Obviously the mayor can't do that legally, so instead he's tried strong arming us by many visits from his policemen! Honestly, you couldn't make it up! It has gone quiet now, not convinced it's gone away yet though.

Respect works both ways.

Instead, harassment, abuse, intimidation and lies. Wow.

Our access is ours and it is not up for negotiation, it's our right in law. Due to the 60 ft lorry which illegally uses our access and blocks our whole house, we feel under attack. The noise is horrific and the enviromental impact on us is bonkers. As I said, there is another solution but they have decided no, it's better to behave like we are the enemy. We've been told that if we want an easy life here we should comply. Sounds like a threat to me!

Er no! Sausage off and stick to the law, as we do and we will all be okay.

Very shortly after we got home from our break, I was told my mum has suffered a fall and has since continued to struggle with her recovery. I don't agree with my brother much, but I do agree with him about those narrow stairs, that accident was always going to happen, it was just a matter of time. I did hope, seeing mum in so much pain, that my dear dad would agree to sell up and move to a one story house but no. He's subborn and I'm a little frustrated with him. In the end though, we grown up kids always have to respect their wishes and can only suggest change sadly.

Lord, I do not know what's going on with Facebook at the moment, but I'm seeing so much AI click bait news about Harry and Meghan and it's vile. You may or may not be a fan as is your right, but these nasty lies are unacceptable. AI was always going to run rampant and media companies need to get this in hand soon! Social media big wigs need to find a way to manage the AI they are actively encouraging as It has the potential to do so much damage to real live humans.

Today in a few short weeks the big day will almost be over and we will be on the countdown to the New Year. Truly, I'd say, it can't get any worse. I won't say it out-loud because I will probably jinx us!

Gumption!
