What a week that was !

Last week was particularly trying for us all at our Blog Towers, Donna was away on her much waited for floral course, Tina was busy with her family, Paula busy with her sewing machine, so I agreed in a very blasé fashion to keep the home fires burning and manage the page !

Rookie error, except I am not a true rookie anymore. Suddenly our private group chat was blowing up with panic stricken messages, Insta has been shut down, think we have been hacked, can’t get on my own page, SOS ! Instagram has always been a bit of a mystery to me tbh so I tentatively peeped and yes, our Instagram page had gone.

This was all far above my pay grade (joking we don’t get paid as we love our roles). Mmm what to do when there isn’t a child to get advice from ?

Yup, you guessed it, wing it and cross everything, fingers , toes, the lot. That was no help whatsoever, but at least I had tried. My old class teacher would have been proud as she always said I needed to try harder !

I threw water on the fire and put up a few posts whilst simultaneously trying to keep Donna calm. Her focus had to be on her flowers. Fortunately Tina and Paula came to my rescue but we couldn’t save the Instagram. All week we tried various ways to regain control of the page too, I was the only one apart from Donna, with full control and the bots etc refused me access. Time and again I attempted to change my password as 'they' said it was incorrect,, they promised to send me an email and I am still waiting.

In the end we , that’s the 'royal we' of course, decided to close the page and start a fresh one.

So in conclusion thanks FB, Meta and Instagram, you nearly gave me a heart attack, certainly gave us all a few extra grey hairs (you know the ones that grow freely on your chin) and definitely reduced the wine lake !
